The sidebar
Step 1 of 7At the top of the sidebar are the areas of LehrPuls, at the bottom the tools: the Projector switch shows or hides the projector window, Second window opens another view (for example Topics & Questions next to the playlist), Messages collects all notices of the current program run; below it you choose the language of the interface and the content language of your questions. At the very bottom the sidebar collapses.

The projector window
Step 2 of 7The Projector switch opens the projector window: drag it onto the projector and set it to full screen there. When a session starts, it shows the QR code, the join code and the address, as here; with the hotspot as the connection also a small QR code for the Wi-Fi. Without a running session it shows a calm start screen. Under Settings → Session & projector you decide whether a session opens and closes the window by itself.

Reading messages
Step 3 of 7LehrPuls shows notices and errors only briefly. Under Messages you find all of them since the program started, the newest at the top — with the time. A red number on the button shows unread errors. Copy to clipboard copies the history, for example for a support request.

Language and content language
Step 4 of 7There are two languages to tell apart: the language (button “EN”) switches the interface. The content language (“Content: EN”) determines in which version your questions, topics and playlists appear in lists and previews — useful when you maintain questions in two languages. Which languages are available is set under Settings → Content languages.

The license
Step 5 of 7Under License you see whom LehrPuls is licensed to, the license type and the purchase date. Without a license, LehrPuls runs as a trial version with full functionality but at most six participants per session. Paste your license key into the field and click Activate — this works without internet, too. Get a license leads to the order page.

The manual
Step 6 of 7The complete Manual is built in: on the left the table of contents, on the right the text. Many pages have a Read in the manual button that jumps straight to the matching chapter. The PDF icon opens the manual as a PDF, for example for printing.

Searching the manual
Step 7 of 7The search above the table of contents highlights all matches in yellow and shortens the table of contents to the sections with hits. With the arrows next to it you jump from match to match.

Samples
Step 1 of 6LehrPuls comes with samples: topics, questions of all types, playlists and sessions with answers — for trying things out without creating anything of your own. Hide samples hides them in all lists. If samples have been changed or deleted, Restore samples brings back the shipped state; Remove samples deletes them completely. Above that you choose the Language of the samples.

The recycle bin
Step 2 of 6Deleted topics, questions, playlists, courses and sessions go to the Recycle bin first. Restore brings an entry back together with its content; after the Retention period (default 30 days) it disappears for good. Empty recycle bin deletes everything in it right away.

Defaults for sessions and analytics
Step 3 of 6Session & projector sets what is preset when a session starts: whether it opens and closes the projector window, whether the timer runs, whether review on the device is allowed and how long an online join code stays reserved. Under Analytics you choose whether a session first appears as an analysis, whether names are shown anonymized and from how many people on distributions are shown.

Languages and database
Step 4 of 6Content languages determines in which languages you maintain questions; you add another one with its code and name. The Database card shows where your data is stored. Back up database… puts a copy into a folder of your choice, Merge database… takes over the database of another computer. With a data folder, for example on OneDrive, you work with the same data on several computers.

Updates, appearance, overlay
Step 5 of 6Under Updates you set whether and how often LehrPuls looks for a new version; the start page announces a new one. Appearance switches between light, dark and the system setting — the projector always stays light. Overlay on your presentation sets in which corner the small card with the code and the number of answers appears over your presentation.

Dark appearance
Step 6 of 6This is how LehrPuls looks in the dark appearance — pleasant in darkened rooms. The projector window and printouts stay light.
