License terms

Version of October 20, 2026. In case of doubt, the German version prevails.

1. Scope and contractual partner

These terms govern the use of the LehrPuls software, including the cockpit, the participant app, and the relay service. The provider is Dr. Florian Hollomey, Rohr 17, 8413 Ragnitz, Austria (imprint). They apply to the trial version and to every purchased license.

Purchase by invoice: The purchase contract is concluded with the provider. Online purchase: Online purchases are handled by the reseller Paddle.com Market Limited. Paddle is then your contractual partner for purchase, payment, invoicing, and refunds, and the Paddle buyer terms also apply. In both cases, the provider grants the rights to use LehrPuls under these terms.

Deviating terms, such as an institution's purchasing conditions, apply only if the provider agrees to them in writing.

2. Trial version

Without a license key, LehrPuls runs as a trial version: free of charge, without time limit, and fully functional, but with at most six participants per session. It lets you evaluate LehrPuls before buying.

3. License types

A license is a personal seat: it applies to one named person on all devices that this person uses. The name and e-mail address are part of the license key. Participants do not need a license.

The provider may verify eligibility for the Education license, for example by the institutional e-mail address, the billing address, or brief proof. If an Education license is used for commercial purposes, the difference to the Commercial price must be paid.

4. Prices, major version, and multiple seats

The prices on the Get a license page at the time of the order apply. They are final prices including VAT. Companies and institutions with a valid VAT identification number in another EU member state pay the net amount (reverse charge).

A license is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It is valid without time limit for the purchased major version, for example 1.x, including all updates of that major version. A later major version may be subject to a charge; you may keep using the version you bought.

For multiple seats, the price per seat depends on the total number. Additional seats are charged at the tier reached with the new total. The institution names a contact person and the people for whom keys are issued.

5. Right of use

With the license, you receive the simple, non-transferable right, unlimited in time, to use LehrPuls within your license type. You may not:

LehrPuls contains components under open-source licenses. Those components are governed by their own license terms.

6. Delivery and payment

The license key arrives by e-mail as a text file with instructions. Activation works offline; please keep the file.

7. Withdrawal and refund

You may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of the purchase without giving reasons. This is the statutory right of withdrawal for consumers and applies voluntarily to companies and institutions as well. A clear statement by e-mail to office@lehrpuls.com with your name and the purchase date is sufficient; for an online purchase, you can also contact Paddle directly. The deadline is met if you send the statement before it expires.

After a withdrawal, you receive all payments back within 14 days, using the same means of payment as for the purchase. You may then no longer use the license key.

8. Warranty

The statutory warranty applies; for consumers, under the Austrian Consumer Warranty Act. Please report defects to office@lehrpuls.com; the provider usually fixes them with an update. The properties of the software are those described in the manual. For companies, the warranty period is twelve months from delivery.

9. Liability

The provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body, or health. The provider is not liable for slight negligence. Toward companies, liability is additionally limited to the purchase price paid, and the provider is not liable to companies for lost profits or consequential damages.

LehrPuls stores all content and results on your own computer. You are responsible for regular backups; the manual describes them in the chapter “Data, backup and moving machines”. Please check results before using them in any grading.

10. Relay service

The relay service connects participants over the internet when there is no shared network. It is included in the license price and is operated without any guaranteed availability; maintenance and outages may interrupt it. Session content is end-to-end encrypted, and the service cannot see it. The provider may change the service or discontinue it with reasonable notice. Use on the local network is not affected.

11. Your participants' data

LehrPuls processes your participants' names and answers only on your computer. You or your institution are responsible for this data; the provider does not receive it. The privacy policy describes how the provider handles your own data.

12. Changes to these terms

A license is governed by the terms in the version valid on the day of purchase. New versions apply only to later purchases.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the conflict-of-law rules of private international law. Consumers retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of their country of residence. The place of jurisdiction for disputes with companies is the competent court in Graz.
